Welcome back to school! The Emory Buddhist Club will have its first meeting of the semester tomorrow (Thursday August 28), from 6pm-7:30pm, in Cannon Chapel room 106. Our teacher for the first two weeks will be Jiansou Shifu, a nun from Dharma Jewel Zen Monastery, a branch of Chung Tai Chan Monastery in Taiwan. All are welcome to come! Snacks provided.

Emory Buddhist Club welcomes all for guided meditation, discussion, and tea, on Thursdays at 6pm this semester. Come relax and calm your mind, and seek to discover truth. Sessions are led by a rotation of invited monks, nuns, and lay leaders, with a different tradition represented each week. Sessions vary weekly and may include meditation, lectures, activities, or videos. This semester our guests include Venerable Jiansou from Dharma Jewel Monastery representing Chinese Chan, Geshe Dadul from Emory Tibet Science Initiative and Drepung Loseling Monastery representing Tibetan Buddhism, Bhante Wajirabuddhi from Georgia Buddhist Vihara representing Southeast Asian Theravada, and Michael Elliston from Atlanta Soto Zen representing Japanese Zen traditions. Furthermore, optional field trips to Buddhist ceremonies at local Asian temples will be throughout the semester.
