Emory Buddhist Club - Emory-Tibet Week starts tomorrow including daily Guided Meditation

The annual *Emory-Tibet Week* at the Michael C. Carlos Museum at Emory
University is March 20 - 25, 2017. This year's theme is "Tibetan Culture in
the 21st Century".

All events are free, open to the public, and held in the Carlos Museum
Level 3 Reception Hall (unless otherwise noted). Come check out the sand
mandala creation process, and enjoy the variety of talks and events. (Note:
Emory-Tibet Week is not affiliated in any way with Emory Buddhist Club)


*Monday March 20 *

12pm - 1pm: Opening Ceremony with Geshe Lobsang Tenzin and Tibetan Buddhist
monks from Drepung Loseling Monastery (India).
1pm - 5pm: Mandala Sand Painting Live Exhibition - White Tara
5pm - 6pm: Guided Meditation
7:30pm - 9pm: Talk, "In Search of a Home - Tibetan Migration in the
Diaspora"


*Tuesday March 21 *
10am - 5pm: Mandala Sand Painting Live Exhibition - White Tara
5pm - 6pm: Guided Meditation
6:30pm: Gallery Talk (South Asia Galleries, Level One) Ellen Gough of
Emory's Department of Religion discusses four different images of the
Buddha in the Carlos Collection.
7:30pm - 9pm: Talk, "Tibet in the 21st Century: The Middle Way Approach"


*Wednesday March 22 *
10am - 5pm: Mandala Sand Painting Live Exhibition - White Tara
5pm - 6pm: Guided Meditation
7:30pm - 9pm: Talk, "Education of the Heart and Mind - The Dalai Lama's
Vision for Education in the 21st Century"


*Thursday March 23*
10am - 5pm: Mandala Sand Painting Live Exhibition - White Tara
4pm - 5pm: AntiquiTEA - Enjoy afternoon tea with Tara Doyle, faculty
5pm - 6pm: Guided Meditation (Cannon Chapel 106)
7:30pm - 9pm: Talk, "Women Luminaries of Tibet" with special guests
including one of the first nuns to complete the Geshe degree in Tibetan
Buddhist philosophy


*Friday March 24*
10am - 5pm: Mandala Sand Painting Live Exhibition - White Tara
5pm - 6pm: Guided Meditation


*Saturday March 25*
12 - 2 pm: Tibetan Sand Painting for Families (registration required,
please visit the Carlos Museum website for details)
2pm - 3:30pm: Free Talk, "Significance of Female Buddhas in Tibetan
Buddhism", and Closing Ceremony with the Monks of Drepung Loseling
Monastery
