2025 Retreat Stipend Application Instructions
Open to all students and young adults
in the Southern United States or Stanford University affiliates with financial need

To help defray partial travel cost or retreat registration fees

Eligibility

Applicants must be grade school (elementary & middle), high school, college students, recent graduates, or young adults from or attending school in the Southern United States (e.g., Georgia, Tennessee, Mississippi, South Carolina, Alabama, Florida, Louisiana), OR affiliated previously with Stanford University.

How to Apply

  1. Indicate Which Retreat You're Attending

  2. Include a Short Essay or Video

    • Write a short essay or create a video answering:
      “Why are you going on this retreat?”

    • Share your story, goals, and why this opportunity is important to you, and why you need financial aid to attend.

    • Include your school, age, and grade (or current job if already graduated) and current city of residence

  3. Submit via Email (contact us again if you don’t receive a reply acknowledging response within 2 weeks)

Additional Opportunities

Sangha Scholarship

A $20,000 grant over four years ($5,000 per year) for Southern students accepted into the Sangha and Laity Training Program at the Sagely City of Dharma Realm in California. In special circumstances, this scholarship may also be awarded to students accepted into Dharma Realm Buddhist University.

GA Summer Camp Scholarship
April 10-13 | Covington, GA

The Georgia Buddhist Camp Scholarship provides financial assistance to students in need, covering fees and expenses. Open to young adults 18 and older in the Southern U.S., this opportunity allows participants to immerse themselves in mindfulness, meditation, and community. Deepen your Buddhist practice, foster meaningful connections, and build lifelong friendships.
